The time frame for the acceptance letter depends on which semester you will start at TUM: You will receive the letter in December for the summer term, and July for the winter term.

Based on the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act, TUM will charge tuition fees for international students from third countries from the winter semester 2024/25.

The tuition fee per semester will usually be 2,000 or 3,000 EUR for Bachelor's programs

The semester fee as a contribution to the student union must be paid additionally. The semester fee amounts to 85.00 EUR.

You have to pay this fee for each semester you study. You pay in advance, for the upcoming semester at the end of the current semester. Installments are not possible.

Some of the facilities offered on this campus include a student library, laboratories, computer labs, cafeteria, university shop, and baby-changing facilities.

Halls of residence: Most of the student halls of residence are run by the Munich Student Union (Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern). There are also halls run by social and private organizations. The university itself does not run any halls of residence. The Munich Student Union runs halls of residence at the three large TUM campuses: Housing Estates in Munich, Garching, Freising and Housing Estate in Straubing.

Private housing: Majority of the students and staff of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) live in private accommodation. To search for accommodation, you can use the housing online exchange service run by the university. https://living.tum.de/listings?viewMode=list

Accommodation is highly sought after, so students will need to apply early.

The closest stations to the university campus are Garching-Hochbrück (U6 line) and Garching (S1 line).
