There are two semesters a year:
Winter semester: September - February
Summer semester: March - August

Standard period of study is 6-7 semesters.

German language knowledge:TestDaF with 4 or telc C1
English language knowledge: IELTS with 6.0 or TOEFL IBT with 80 scores

For international students the application deadlines are:
Winter Semester: 15th June
Summer Semester: 30th November

The minimum time period is usually between 2-4 weeks.

No student fees are charged at the present time. There is, however, a term contribution to be paid. This term contribution is currently 63 EUR for new students and 72 EUR for re-registrations.

You have to pay this fee for each semester you study. You pay in advance, for the upcoming semester at the end of the current semester. Installments are not possible.

Some of the facilities offered on this campus include a student library, classrooms and lecture halls, laboratories, computer labs, cafeteria, theater, and a day care center.

Residential homes:
Studierendenwerk Rostock-Wismar (Student Services Rostock-Wismar) offers furnished rooms in several modernly furnished residential homes in Wismar. There, you share kitchen and bathroom facilities with other students. These rooms have a one-semester rent contract. For many international students, this is the first and easiest choice.

Shared apartments: Wohngemeinschaften (WGs)
Often students share a flat and form a so-called Wohngemeinschaft, or WG (shared apartments).

If you are registered at the University of Wismar, you can apply for a place in halls of residence. Studentenwerk Rostock (Rostock Student Services) is responsible for the allocation of places.
